community support

Something to keep in mind:

When you pay more, you know that you are helping me support myself and my kiddo as a financially-independent working + student mother. When you pay in the middle, you know that you are helping me cover costs. And when you pay at the bottom, you know that you are letting your community hold you and support you. All of these are acceptable ways of participating.

It is up to you to decide where on the scale you can pay. This should be an income-based process. Let me know any budgetary limitations you have in the form on my contact page. Please note that I cannot make every request happen, but I will do my best to serve you in a way that works within your budget.

Consider paying full cost or more if you:

• own the home you live in
• are paid a salary, have investments, retirement accounts, or inherited money
• travel recreationally
• have access to family money and resources in times of need
• work part time by choice
• have a relatively high degree of earning power due to level of education, gender privilege, racial privilege, class background, etc.

Consider paying less if you:

• have medical expenses not covered by insurance
• have medical expenses, been denied work, or experience discrimination related to ableism
• are eligible for public assistance (are low income/low resource)
• have immigration-related expenses
• are an unpaid community organizer
• have been denied work due to previous incarceration history
• are supporting children as a single parent or have other dependents

(This privilege-based sliding scale model was adapted from AB Moore (a tattooer in Portland) who in turn adapted it from Dura Mater Wellness, Little Red Bird Botanicals and Pronia Coaching. Any feedback about how I can further develop and improve upon this model is welcome).
